Rai Budliya Dance of Rajasthan

Dance of festival season. It begins after holi or we say on the onset of dhulandi festival which falls next day to holi. This dance is carried on till basant panchami.
It is performed by male dancers.

Budliya wares torn clothes. Mussal and thali are the instruments which he carries in both the hands. Face is covered by a mask but sometimes the mask is missing and it is replaced by black paint. The face is seen painted black accompanied with white paint around his eyes. It’s too impressive when he moves his eyes around.

Dancers go around the country side and collect of fering from door to door .This dance is active amongst Bansvada tribals. Thali, undi, and dhol are the main instruments in this dance form.
