Indrapari Dance of Rajasthan

Excitement brings sahariyas come together and the sips of local or country made liquor make them Mary go around. In this form of dance the males cover their faces with masks resembling Indrapari .The dance is performed in circle and outside it there is a man standing covering his face with the vale. The masks are of monkeys, lion, monster, deer etc. All these masks are made out of mud.

The dance begins on the beats of dhol and copper plates .On the beats of these instruments the man dressed in the female attire jumps into the centre of the circle and gets lost in the dance. Multicolored scarves are seen in the hands of both and while they tap their feet the ghoongroos release their melodious sound.
