Aalini Hailini Dance of Gujarat

It is a seasonal dance which is performed by the Bhil community of Vadodra. It is to welcome the season of spring .The young girls perform the dance when the flower Taissu is in full bloom all around. The flower taissu can be seen blooming in full swing and spreading the shower of their fragrance and inviting the young girls to dance. These girls make waist belts out of the flowers and tie it around their waist. Wearing these belts on their waist they start to shake and this particular action is called Aaliniyo. The girls catch each others hand and start the main actions of the dance which mainly involves moving in front and at back singing all the lovely songs expressing the internal feelings of the season.
